J -~l ---' 81 ORDINANCE NO. 276 AN ORDINANCE CREATI1G THE OFFICE AND POSITION OF GE1~RAL Mi~INTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE HOLDER OF SUCH OFFICE; AUTHORIZING TflE APPOINTMENT TO AND FILLING OF SUCH POSITION; AUTHORIZING THE Crry COMMISSION TO FIX AND PRESCRIBE COMPENSATION FOR THE HOLDER OF SUCH OFFICE; AUTHORIZING , THE CITY COMMISSION TO REQ,UlRE BOND OF SUCH OFFICER AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINlI.NCES IN C01'JFLICT HEREV'ITTH. BE IT ORDAI:f\1ED BY THE CITY CO:MMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: I That there is hereby created the position of General Main- tenance Superintendent for the City of' West University Place, Texas. The City Commission of the City shall appoint~ as General Maintenance Superintendent a person acceptable to such Commission who is quali- fied to 1'ulfill and perform the duties and obligations 01' such o1'fice, and such officer shall receive such compensation as may be fixed, authorized and appropriated by the City CommisSion. II The General Maintenance Superintendent shall superintend all operations, maintenance and repairs in the water and sewer departments, street and bridge department and garbage department" and he shall be required to attend such schools and classes and take such examinations as may be prescribed and required by the City Commission and by all Texas statutes and health board rules and requirements that may from time to time be in force and effect. III The City Commission may require that the General Maintenance Superintendent give and furnish bond in any amount fixed by the City Commission, condi tioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of his office, which bond shall be made by a surety company as sure- ty acceptable to the CityCommissi on. Such bond shall be acceptable to and approved by the City Commission, and the premium thereon shall be paid by the City. IV All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed insofar as such conflicts exist o'nly. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS l7 day of a vote of 3 ayes and 2 noes. January, A.
