CITY COUNCIL ACTION MINUTES
The City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas, met in a special meeting on Wednesday-
Thursday, December 19-20, 2018, in the Municipal Building, 3800 University, West University Place.
The special meeting convened at approximately 8:34 a.m. on December 19, 2018, in the Bill Watson
Conference Room. Council and Staff in attendance were: Mayor Pro Tem Turner, Councilmembers
Burke, Higley, and Boyle, City Secretary Gilliam, and Human Resources Director Urban.
1. Convene into Executive Session (Council Conference Room)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council will convene into executive session in accordance with the
following provisions of Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code:
Council recessed the special meeting and convened into executive session per Section 551.074 of the
Texas Government Code to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment,
duties, discipline, or dismissal of the city manager’s position.
2. Break at 10:25 a.m.
Mayor Sample recessed the executive session so that members of Council could attend to personal
matters.
3. Reconvene Executive Session at 11:45 a.m. per Section 551.074 of the TGC
Matters related to reconvening the executive session to further discuss selection of a candidate.
At approximately 11:45 p.m., Mayor Sample reconvened the executive session.
4. Reconvene Special Meeting
Mayor Sample adjourned the executive session and reconvened the special meeting at approximately
3:19 p.m. No Action Taken.
Mayor Sample recessed the special meeting until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018.
On Thursday, December 20, 2018, Mayor Sample reconvened the special meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Mayor Pro Tem Turner moved to recess the special meeting and convene into executive session.
Councilmember Burke seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.
Ayes: Sample, Turner, Boyle, Burke, Higley
Noes: None
Absent: None

At approximately 10:52 a.m., Council closed the executive session and reconvened the special
meeting. No Action Taken.
5. Adjourn
Mayor Sample adjourned the meeting on December 20, 2018, at approximately10:52 a.m.
