NOTICE OF ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARING
The Zoning Board of Adjustment("ZBA")of the City of West University Place,Texas("City")will hold
a public hearing in the Municipal Building, 3800 University Boulevard,City of West University Place,
Texas 77005,during a meeting set to begin at 6:30 p.m.on September 26,2019.The hearing may be
recessed and continued to a ZBA meeting set to begin at 6:30 p.m.on October 24,2019.The purpose of
the hearing is to provide an opportunity for all persons to be heard in relation to the following matter:
Address of the site: 6321 Buffalo Speedway
Legal Description The north %of lot eleven(11),in block seventeen(17)of
West University Place,a subdivision of Harris County,
Texas,according to the map or plat thereof recorded in
volume 444,page(s)563 of the deed records of Harris
County,Texas.

Applicant: Kristin and Vance Tillman
Action Requested: Request a variance to the side yard setback as required by
Article 7,Table 7-2,Yards(or setbacks)to allow a living
area behind the garage to be 3.5' from the property line.
Additional Details: The side yard setback for a single family lot is 10%of the lot width or 5',
whichever is greater. An exception to this requirement allows a garage space to be 3' from the side
property line. The applicant has a pre-existing garage with a storage area behind it that is 3.5' from the
property line. The applicant wants to convert the storage space into living space by constructing an
accessory quarters which requires a setback of at least 5'.
Applicable regulations include the City's Zoning Ordinance,Code of Ordinances,Chapter 211 of the
Texas Local Government Code and the rules of the ZBA. The application is available on the city's
website at www.westutx.gov. Additional details on such matters,as well as the applicable regulations are
also available for public inspection in the Public Works Center,3826 Amherst,West University Place,
77005.Any person interested in such matters should attend the hearing.
