However, this does not prohibit: ( i ) minor projections across a building line, above ground level, by eaves , cornices , roof extensions and other architectural details, if the item does not project across the building line by more than fifteen inches , and ( ii) any other projection, to the extent, if any, that the projection is expressly allowed into a setback area (or required yard) of the same type (e .g . , front, side, rear) by the ordinances , rules and regulations of a city, town or village within which the property is located.
