HomeMy WebLinkAbout09072000 BSC Notice (2) • • City of West Universit y Place .: Recycled Paper Form BSC-1 02.NOT(4-97)05 c/forms NOTICE OF HEARING (QUASIJUDICIAL ENFORCEMENT PROCEEDING) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Building & Standards Commission ("BSC") of the City of West University Place, Texas ("City") will hold a hearing in the Bill Watson Conference Room of the Municipal Building, 3800 University Blvd., City of West University Place, Texas 77005. The hearing will be convened during a meeting of the BSC set to begin at 6:00 PM on September 7, 2000. The hearing may be adjourned or recessed from time to time on the same date and may be reconvened and continue at 6:00 PM on the date which is two weeks following the date of the meeting stated above, at the same place. The purpose of the hearing is to consider a first amended complaint filed by the Building Official of the City with respect to property ("Property") described as follows: Address: 6448 Brompton Road, City of West University Place, Texas 77005 Legal Description:The following two parts of Lot One, Block Fourteen of WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, an addition to the City of West University Place, adjacent to the City of Houston, in Harris County, Texas , as per map thereof recorded in Volume 444, Page 560 of the Deed Records of Harris County, Texas: (1) The East 80 feet of said Lot One and (2) the west five feet of the East 85 feet of the South 100 feet of said Lot One. Such two parts are sometimes referred to as Tract 1B in said Block 14. The complaint names the following as respondents: Karen Burdett, Betty Rue Terry, Marjorie McElya, Robert E. McElya, Richard McElya, William R. McElya, John Stacy McElya, Jerry Holtkamp, Jr., Jerry Holtkamp, III, and any other record owners of the Property, each representative of any owner of the Property with control over the premises, each holder of a recorded lien against the Property, each unknown owner of the Property, any persons occupying the Property and any mortgagees and other persons claiming an interest the Property. The respondents shall have the right to appear and be heard at the hearing. The BSC may also hear from other persons. The complaint alleges that there are conditions of the Property that are dangerous, substandard or in violation of an ordinance. Such conditions are generally described as water damage, dilapidation or decay, and other violations of applicable regulations, including: holes, breaks and loose or rotting boards, broken windows, lack of rodent-proofing and waterproofing, lack of good repair, lack of protective paint or covering, and similar conditions. The complaint requests that the BSC issue appropriate orders under Subchapter C of Chapter 54 of the Texas Local Government Code to alleviate, remedy and abate the conditions alleged to exist. Such orders may require repair, modification and removal of buildings and structures, removal of persons, civil penalties and other actions. Chapter 6 of the Code of Ordinances of the City also applies to this matter.
