Franklin, Mayor Pro Tem Alan Petrov, City Attorney Bob Higley, Councilmember Thelma Gilliam, City Secretary Kellye Burke, Councilmember Mardi Turner, Councilmember CITY COUNCIL BUDGET WORKSHOP MINUTES The City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas, met in a Budget Workshop on Saturday , September 30 , 201 7 , in the Bill Watson Conference Room in the Municipal Building located at 3800 University, West University Place, Texas beginning at 9 :00 a.m. Notice of the Budget Workshop was duly posted in accordance with the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551. Agenda Items were as follows: Call to Order . Mayor Sample called the meeting to order at 9:15 a .m. in the City Council Chambers . Council and Staff in attendance were: Mayor Pro Tem Franklin , Councilmembers Burke, Higley and Turner , City Manager Peifer, City Secretary Gilliam , Executive Staff and Treasurer Wally Waits. Consultant Lori Messer with Fox Lawson was also present to review the compensation study with City Council. 1. City Finances, Facilities Programs, 2017 Tax Rate & 2018 Budget and Fees Matter s related to city finances, 2017 tax rate , the 2018 Budget and fees, including revenues and expenditures for current and future years for all funds. Mr. M. Chris Peifer, City Manager City Manager Peifer presented the 2018 proposed budget to Council. 2. Adjourn Following the presentation and discussion, Mayor Sample adjourned the workshop at 12:15 p.m. 10/09/17 Thelma A. Gilliam , City Secretary Date Approved
