CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MINUTES
The City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas, met in special session on Monday ,
August 21, 2017 , in the Municipal Building, 3800 University, West University Place, Texas beginning at
6:00 p.m.
Call to Order . Mayor Sample called the meeting to order at 6:00 p .m. in the Bill Watson Conference
Room . Council and Staff in attendance were: Councilmembers Burke and Turner, and City Secretary
Gilliam. Mayor Pro Tem Franklin and Councilmember Higley were absent.
Subject items are as follows:
1. Interview Boards/Commission Applicants
City Council interviewe d candidates for positions on the City’s various boards and
commissions.
Mayor Sample r ecessed regular session s and convened closed session s at 7:15 p.m., 7:35
p.m., 8:10 p.m., and 8:50 p.m. and adjourned the closed sessions and reconvened the regular
sessions at 7:26 p.m., 7:42 p.m., 8:20 p.m., and 9:00 p.m., respectively, to interview candidates
applying for the Zoning and Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Adjustment, and/or the
Build ing and Standards Commission.
2. Adjourn
With no action taken, the Workshop adjourned at approximately 9:25 p.m.
