AN ORDINANCE FINDING AND THAT EACH AND ALL OF THE PRO -
CEEDTNGS HAVE BEEN HAD AND ALL THINGS DONE PREREQUISITE TO THE
HOLDING OF A PUBLIC HEARING TO UONSIDER AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE
NO 111 OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS TO PERMIT THE
USE OF LOT 10A, BLOCK 25, WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE FIRST ADDITION,
FOR CHURCH PURPOSES; FINDING•THAT A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE:PURPOSE
OF CONSIDERING AN AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE NO. 111 HAS BEEN DULY AND
LEGALLY HELD; APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION
OF THE ZONING AND_ - PLANNING BOARD THAT ORDINANCE NO. 111 BE AMENDED
REZONING THE SAID LOT FOR CHURCH PURPOSES; FINDING THAT ORDINANCE
NO. 111 OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE SHOULD BE AMENDED SO
AS TO PERMIT SUCH USE OF THE SAID LOT; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 111
REZONING LOT 10A,, BLOCK 25, WEST. UNIVERSITY PLACE, FIRST ADDITION;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the West University Methodist Church acting by and through its duly
authorized Chairman of the Church's Building Committee, Mr. W. W. Bowman,
has heretofore duly and properly requested the rezoning of Lot 10A, Block 25,
West University Place First Addition, to permit the use of the same for church
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning and Planning Board of the City of West University Place,
having considered the said request of the West University Methodist Church,
r has submitted its recommendation that the same should be granted subject to
a public hearing before the City Commission of said City; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was had on the said request of West University Methodist
Church following proper notice of the same in accordance with Ordinance No. 111 of
the City of West University Place in the City Hall on November 26,1956; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that the request of the West Univer-
sity Methodist Church should be granted;
NOW$ THEREFORE, BE'IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF.WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE:
Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of West University Place hereby
finds and determines that all formalities required by Ordinance 111 of said City
relative to the request of the West University Methodist Church for an amendment
to the said Ordinance to permit the use of Lot 10A, Block 25, West.University
Place First Addition for church purposes have been duly complied with.
Section 2. That the report and recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Board
relative to the request of the West University Methodist Church be, and it is
hereby,approved and adopted.
Section 3. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 111 of the City of West University
Place is hereby amended by the addition of a sub - paragraph to be known as sub -par-
agraph 14 to read as follows:
11(14). Church, church buildings and appurtenances on Lot 10A, Block 25,
West University Place First Addition."
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 10TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1956.
