ORDINANCE NUMBER 874
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST
, UNIVERSITY PLACE CONCERNING THE IMPROVEMENT OF KIRBY
DRIVE BETWEEN BISSONNET AVENUE AND WEST HOLCOMBE BOULE-
VARD;MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO
THE SUBJECT; AND APPROVING AND RATIFYING THE ASSESSMENTS
I;EVIED.'AGAINST PROPERTY IN WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE BY THE
, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' HOUSTON.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Section 1 of Article
~105b, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, the City of Houston and the City of
West University Place have heretofore entered.intoa contract for the im-
provement of Kirby Drive between Bissonnet Avenue and West Ho~come Boulevard;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with such contract, the City of Houston in-,
itiated proceedings for the improvement of Kirby Drive under two separate,
construction contracts as assessment paving projects; and
WHEREAS, as hereinafter stated, the City Counci~ of the City of
Houston has ~evied assessments agai~st abutting property in the City of
Houston and in the City of West University P~ace;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE ,CITY
OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of West University Place
hereby finds and determines that by Ordinance No. 66-~393, adopted by the
City Council of the City of Houston on July 13, 1966, such City Council, after
due notice and hearing in accordance with law, ~evied assessments against the
owners of property abutting on Kirby'Drive from Barbara Lane to Bissonnet
Avenue. The description of said properties and the apparent owners thereof,
respective~y, and the several amounts so assessed are:

July 13, 1966, the City Council of ~he City of Houston levied assessments
against certain property between the north property line of, Underwood Drive
and the south property line of Barbara Lane, which includes the property
abutting upon Kirby Drive between West Holcombe Boulevard and Barbara Lane.

Section 3: The City Connnission of the Cityo:{' West University Place does hereby
in all'things ratify and approve the aforesaid assessments and the action of
the City Council of the City of Houston in adopting said ordinances levying such
assessmentLinsofar as the same in any way affect property situated within the
corporate limits of the City of West University Place.
Section 4: The City Secretary of the City of West University Place is hereby
authorized and directed to deliver a certified copy of this ordinance to the
City Secretary of the City of Houston as evidence and assurance that the said
assessments so levied by the City of Houston against the abutting property
lying within the limits of the City of West University P~ace have been so
ratified. and approved by this, the City Commission of West University Place.
