Call to Order: The meeting was called to or der at 6:32 pm by vice-chair Kevin Boyle. II. Approval of the January 21, 2015 Meeting Minu tes: Motion to approve minutes made by Moya Varner and seconded by Ma rk Prescott. Motion approved. III. Friends Overview: Mark Prescott stated that the Park’s Lovers Ball was a big success, raised approximately $380,000. Currently looking for chairs for next year’s event when it will be the 25 th year anniversary. Also noted that next year will be the 10 th year anniversary of Fathers and Flashlights. In a ddition to chairs, Friends is also looking for a new corporate sponsor as Di rect Energy is exiting. IV. Parks Master Planning Update and Review: Kevin reported that Park Master Plan Task Force had presented plan at council workshop. Next step is for it to be presented to City Council in open session fo r discussion and formal adoption. V. Board Member Updates and Committees: None VI. Staff and City Counc il Updates: Council Update : None Staff Update : Tim reported that Colonial Park is having some planned excavation work done to correct ponding issues. Also reported that the Aurora Picture Show event had to be cancelled due to weather.
Parks and Recreation Board Minutes page 2 VII. Citizen’s Comments: Resident Alida Drew es briefly addressed the group. Noted that park at Southside Place was a good example of good use of green space. Also no ted that consideration should be given to developmen t of Poor Farm Ditch. VIII. New Business: None IX. Adjournment: Motion by Moya Varner wi th second by Susan Reeves to adjourn meeting. Motion passed and meeting adjour ned at approximately 6:44. The next meeting will be schedul ed for April 1. 2015 @ 6:30 pm.
