HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 2015-03 Authorizing CM to Determine Feasibility of Property Exchange with WUBCCity of West University Place Harris County, Texas RESOLUTION NO. 2015 -03 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE SUCH ACTION AS NECESSARY TO DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF AN EXCHANGE OF PROPERTY BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE WEST UNIVERSITY BAPTIST CHURCH THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HARRIS CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE WHEREAS, on December 18 and December 25, 2014 the City of West University Place, Texas (the "City") advertised for proposals related in the pnssihle sale or exchange of property wilhin the vicinity of the City Hall and Public Works, and WHEREAS, the West University Baptist Church submitted a proposal on January T, 2015 for the possible sale or exchange of property as the only respondent to the City's request for proposals; and WHEREAS, the West University Baptist Church has expressed an interest in a sale or exchange of property provided that any properly acquired by the West University Baptist Church is suitable for its use; and WHEREAS, the City has expressed an interest in a sale or exchange of property provided that such sale or exchange is in the best long term interest of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS THAT: Section 1: The City Manager is authorized and approved to take such action as may be reasonably necessary to investigate the feasibility of a sale or exchange of property with the West University Baptist Church. Section 2: The actions of the City Manager taken heretofor to investigate the sale or exchange of property are hereby ratifed, specifically including the authorization for a special exception for the property at 3828 Milton Street for use by Me West University Baptist Church.
