City of West University Place, Texas. 2H3 The Commission convened in cal.led session on the foregoing date with Mayor R. B. Schlesinger. presiding and Commissioners Plumb and Cockburn and Secretary Cffinp in attendance. The meeting was called in specia.1 session for the' purpose of s.ccepting park' site in Colonial Terrace Addition, being tert.dE?red by the firm of Fantham and. Fantham; whereupon, The secretary presented letter from Mr. E. C. Fa:tl~ham of the real estate firm of Fantham & Fantham Dffering the City clear~title to lots 1 to 6 inclusive and 21 to 26 inclusive, Block 27 Co1on'ial Terrace Addition, provided, however, that the City refund to said.firm all taxes paid to City of West University Place, and to exclude from the 1931 tax roll, taxes on these lots, and, that the City agree to improve this tract of land and to be used only for the purpose of park site. Motion was made by commis'sioner wit Bnd duly, seconded by Commissioner Cockburn that the City accept t s;~roposition, and that Mayor Schlesinger make proper negotiations with . iQl firm in fuhe transfer of clear title. Due to the depressed conditions now prevailing, Mayor Schlesinger presentee the following Ordinance for the consideration of' the Commission, viz: ..... AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EXTENTION OF TIME FROM DECEMBER 31, 1931 TO JANUARY 31, 1932 FeR THE PAYNIENT OF 1931 AD VALOREM TAXES DUE CITY OF ~~ST UNIVERSITY PL~CE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT NO ~ENALTIES SHALL ATTACfv FOR THE NON -PAYMENT OF SAID TAXES Ul~TIL FEBHUARY l, 1932. Iv'fotion was made by Commissioner Plumb and duly seconded by Commissioner Cockbu~n that the foregoing Ordinance be passed. Voting Aye: Commissioners Plumb and Cockbu~n. NOS NONE'. A letter to Mrs. Erwin Cushman offering her the paid and cancelled salary 'check of OtW deceased City Secretary, Mr. Erwin Cushman, which was the last earthly effort put forth by him 'in the ,endorsement of said check, being our number 3909, was read by the, Sec.retary and upon motion and duly seconded, the Secretary 1Nas in.stImcted to deliver same to Mrs. Erwin Cushman. '. Two contracts with <T. R. Phillips ,.fnthe ,upe,rviSing '01' exchanges of City Warrants for City 5-~% Bonds, werepresenteji by the Mayor, and upon motion made and duly seconded, th,e City entered in,,~,"~ these contracts with J.
