The City Commission convened at 9:00 A.M. on the .foregoing date in
called session with Mayor Schlesinger presiding and Commissioner Flumb
and Commissioner Cockburn and Secretary Camp in attendance.
A bill from City Attorney R. L. Sonfield in the amount of $15.00 for
serviees rendered City in examining of abstracts etc., of Lots 3 and 4,
Block 18, College View Third Addition was presented by Secretary Camp,
and upon motion ms,de end duly seconded, the Secretary was instructed
to pay same.
Estimate #2 from Cit"jT.Engineer J. B. Rafferty, for cleaning out sanitary
sewer in West University Place Second Addition in the amount of $69.70
was presented by the Secretary and upon motion made and duly seconded
the estimate was declared approved.
{The increase building activity in West i.&J Place becoming so sigfi
nificant, the Commission declared that a po ,~~n of General Building
Inspector should be created, and the mayor ~~dingly appointed Mr. J. A.
Metcalf to the position at a monthly salar $150.00 and at the same
time, the expenditures for services rende , the City by M~~ u. R. Bronk
in the capacity of Electrical Inspector", 'arJ.ll. J. A,_. Met" calf in the, capacity
of Fire ,Marshall and Building-Inspector' wl(Y ordered discontinued" and
stressed the fact that the new position or General Building Inspector's
duties include both Fire Marshall and Electrical Inspector's duties, after
the first of December.
Motion m~de by Commissioner Plumb and duly seconded by Commissioner
Cockburn that action of the Mayor in appointing Mr. J. A. Metcalf, to
, position of General Building Inspector be ratified.

The final' estima te on Sanitary Sewer in Bissonnett Place, and letter from'
the Rieker Constru,stion Company authoriz ing the City to d~duct from final
estimate $975.66 to be paid to the Houston Concrete, Pipe Gompany, $711.80,
Lloyd Metal Com~~ny, $65.75, Parker Bros., $67~75 and J. A. Nolch Company,
$130.36.

Motion was made oy Cornnissioner Pl~mb and seconded by COilllllissioner Cockburr.
