Called meeting of City Comn1ission convened at 9:00 A.M. on the fore-
going date with Mayor Schlesinger presiding and COlmnissioners Plumb and
Cockburn and Secretary Camp in attendance.

The meeting was ca~led for the pD~pose of having hearing on the special
benefit~9Pimpro~; o%LL~ke Street between Rice, ~oulevard and Plumb
streeti~~~~. Arnof~operty owner~nd reput~~~citizen of Our City
appeared before the Commission and voiced his opinion that. the said im-
provement of Lake street would enhance the valu~ of each parcel of
land fronting on Lake str,eet more than the cost ofim,proveme:p.t in front

improve certain streets between Bellaire and University Boulevards;Whereaf
the following caption of' resolution and resolution itself was read and
passed upon, viz;

RHjSOLUTION ordering and providing for the im- ,''V~ment of portions of
Met-cer A venue., and sundry other streets, hi ~ and public places in the
City of West University Place, in Harris y, Texas; apportioning the
cost of such~mprovement; providing the ti~e and terms theEeof; and
ordering plans and specifications ppepar~~by the City Engineer for maki~g
said improvements.
(' Mayor Schlesinger made motion that the foregoing resolution be passed,
~ subject, however, to the approval of at least 75~ of the res:i.d6nt3property
owners of parcels of land abutting on the streets, called for in petiti~n.

Motion was made by Commissioner Plumb and duly seconded by Commissioner
Cockburn that petition be passed as hereinafter set out, viz;
Tha~ each petition constitute a seperate and independent unit of said
project and that anyone or all streets may be excluded from the orEginal
project should not the specified perl?entage of resident property owners
sanction the contract.'

ed, and upon motion made and duly nde,d, the foregoing resolution was
passed. q
.An Ordin'ance accepting contract Wffh the .Gibral ter Construction Company
was presented by 'the Secretary and upon motion made by Commissioner
Cockburn and duly aeconded by Commissioner Plmnb the Ordinance. was de-
clared approved.
Ci ty Engineer ...T. H. Rafferty submitted his roll as to the ownership of
each parcel, of land abutting streets to be improved.
