The Mayor also issued instructions that a letter be addressed to Engineer J. H. Rafferty requesting and authorizing him to make upand have have mimeopraphed 50 copies of an alphabetical list of new . Fire Chief Metcalf requested the body to have the Secretary write and notify the Houston NatUr~ Gas Company not to make any more gas connections within the City limits without first having been advised pver telephone or ~~person ~y Mr. W. T. Barngill plumb- ing Inspector or the Secretary's office or the Fire Chief that. everything is O.K. for such hook up. The intention being to gUard the premises against possible fire hazards which might originate from this source. .Motion made by COL~issioner Plumb and duly seconded by Commissioner Walling that the Secretary be instructed to write the Houston Nat- }U'al Gas Co., in accordance with suggestion made by the Fire Marshall.
