HomeMy WebLinkAboutFMinutes091113_Page_4levels and we are very grateful to her. Amongst other things, she got us going with Constant Contact, added F & F registration on line, added the Stork and Paver order forms to the website, added a place for people to sign up to receive Friends communications, and added a general donation form to the site. She has helped with improving the look and functionality of the website and as she has time, she is continuing to work on the website using the computer in my office. The Friends tax return for 2012 was successfully submitted since our last meeting. The Party on the Patio Concert Series this past June was another big success. Thank you to Michelle Huth and Grace Ebaugh for being the Friends board representatives at each concert. We are also grateful to members of City Council who attended and made opening remarks at the concerts. Direct Energy was the lead sponsor for the concert series. Fathers & Flashlights 2013: Their underwriting to date is a Friends F&F record. Their current underwriting and sponsorship total of $61,400 is not the net funds raised, this is only the underwriting and sponsorships to date. We anticipate the net funds raised will be record breaking as well. Thank you to the event co-chairs for their hard work and for being part of the new online registration process. They have also committed to chairing F & F 2014 as well which is wonderful news! PLB2014- To add to the chairs' report, the wine harvesting events are underway with the most recent one taking place at Sue Hanna's house and hosted by Kristine Martinez, Sue Hanna, Susie Boyce, and Margaret Wallace Brown on Sept. 5. The next wine harvest event, Mummy's Night Out, will take place on October 25 at the home of Susie Boyce. Both wine pull harvesting events are being underwritten by Frost Bank! The PLB kickoff coffee was held earlier that same day at Tiny's #5 and was generously underwritten by Tiny's #5 as well. The coffee and the wine pull harvest event were both well attended. Retained Jack Gibbs for the live auctioneer for PL132014. Working with Frost Bank to provide volunteers to work auction check out for the ball this year. Instead of hiring National Fundraising Solutions as we have in years past to run our check out for the ball, we have a representative from Northwest Software/Auction Tracker who will be onsite to oversee the process. The event co-chairs have been busy planning a very special event for February 8, 2014. I am meeting with Christine Parker on Thursday, Sept. 12. She is interested in a Friends board position. She is a possibility for our treasurer position. She works for Calpine Corp. and is a resident of West U. Kristine Martinez has embraced her role with Friends as PR chair. She continues to prepare press releases regularly and most recently she covered the donor wall unveiling. The Friends Donor Wall Unveiling was another major highlight of the summer. The unveiling event was held on August 29 and we had a nice crowd on hand. A big
