HomeMy WebLinkAboutFMinutes091113_Page_3Auction - Nancy Kate Prescott and Ting Bresnahan mailed auction request forms over the summer. Auction committee has met to discuss follow-up and new solicitations. This is the area where we need the most support from the Board, in particular with trips and "experience" type items for Live Auction and Big Board. Underwriting - Megan Morris and Caroline Billipp are leading the underwriting and sponsorship efforts. Some sponsorships have already been secured and selling sponsorships will be ongoing. Underwriting letters will be mailed in September. We hope to sell out the event before invitations go out, so help us spread the word. Decor - Invitation and Event decor and set-up are being handled by Kara Sanders, Maria Elena Herbst and Kim Etheridge. The Royal Sonesta is undergoing renovations, but the initial tour has been done and menu tasting is set for November. Preliminary decor items are on hold at Aztec and Swift. Invitation and graphic design element are underway and hope to be done before the holidays. VI. Donor Wall (Ting Bresnahan) The donor wall is completed and installed at the Rec Center. The donor wall unveiling event was held on August 29th. Thanks to all who came to this well attended event and a special thanks to Gayle Jackson for her help in organizing it. VII. Marketing and Development (Christina Milligan) Working with Katie Hill to touch up current storks and sibling stars. Creating a banner which will rotate between parks and be displayed at special events. Creating an 8x10 flyer to be displayed at local businesses. Advertise in the Buzz and Essentials, hopefully using pro-bono advertising space. VIII. Of course, one of the bigger announcements of the summer was about Direct Energy committing to being the Friends 2014 Corporate Sponsor. This is huge and we are so grateful to them for serving in this capacity for the third year in a row. Thank you to those of you who wrote personal notes thanking Direct Energy for this generous sponsorship. Other highlights of the summer included Christi Young being appointed to the Friends board and taking on the Friends' website project. She has taken us to new
