Mayor Fry called the meeting to order at 5:10 pm in the Conference Room. Council and Staff in attendance ware: Mayor Pro Tem Sample, Councilmembers Heathcoti, Johnson and Yehle, Assistant City ManagedPublic Works Director Peifer, City Secretary Lenz, and City Attorney Petrov. After calling the meaning to under, Mayor Fry recessed the Special Meeting4efork crop to convene into Executive Session per Section 551.071 (Consultation with City Attorney) and 551.72 (Deliberation regarding value or transfer of real property and other real estate) of Chapter 551 0 the Texas Government Code to discuss the following. 1. College StreeMSellaire Boulevard Detention Mothers related to detention for the College StreeVBellaire Boulevard storm water project. At 5:25 p.m., Mayor Pm Tam Sample moved to close the Executive Session and Reconvene the Special Maef irmMorkshop. Councilmember Johnsen sentenced the motion. MOTION PASSED. Ayes: Fry, Sample, Johnson, Yeha Noes: None Absent: None No action taken. 2. Administration of Oaths of Office to new Maybe and Council Members The Oath of Office will be administered by the Honorable Ed Emmert, Harris County Judge. To be held in the Council Chambers. Judge Emmett administered Oaths of Office to Mayor Fry and Councilmembers Heathcoff, Johnson, Sample and Yehle. Ciry Council Minutes. June 3, 2013 Mayor Fry thanked those who voted for him and City Council. He said that he and Council are ready to take on this opportunity for two more years with steady, responsive and open leadership. He also thanked staff and those who serve on boards and committees. City Council echoed Mayor Fry's commends. At 5:38 p.m., Mayor Fry recessed the meeting for the reception. 4. Social Reception Social reception will be heW in the Council Conference Room. A social reception was held on behalf of the elected officials. After the reception, the Special MeetingNorkshop was adjourned. REGULAR MEETING (Council Chambers) Agenda items were as follows: Call to Order. Mayor Fry called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in me Council Chambers. Council and Staff in attendance were: Mayor Pro Tem Sample, Counchmembers Hea navel Johnson, and Yet City Manager Ross, City Attorney Petrov, Assistant City Manager /Public Works Director Peifeq City Secretary Lenz, Police Chief Walker, Mayor Fry led the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Lenz confirmed that the Notice of the special and regular meetings was duly posted in accordance with the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551. 5. Public Comments This was an opportunity for citizens to speak to Council relating t0 agenda and non - agenda items. There were no comments from the public. 6. Selection of a Mawr Pro Tem Matters related to the selection of a Mayor Pro Tem. Councilmember Johnson moved to approve Councilmember Sample as to Mayor Pro Tem. Councilmember Heathcef seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED. Ayes: Fry, Sample, Headrest Johnson, Yonne Noes: None Absent: None ]. Consent Agenda All Consent Agenda items listed are considered to be routine by the City Council and will be enacted by one motion. Matters related to the appointment of Christi Young to Position 11 on the Friends of West University Place Parks Fund, Inc. Councilmember Heathcon moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Mayor Pro Tern Sample seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED. Ayes: Fry, Sample, HeatM1COlt, Johnston, YBMe Noes: None Absent None 8. Reports by CouncibStaN There were no reports. 9. Adjourn Meeting With further business, Councilmember Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:32 p.m. Councilmember Heathc04t seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.
