2006, and served as our treasurer and most recently our interim treasurer. We are very
thankful to her for her countless hours devoted to Friends. Steve Primrose joined the
Friends board in September of 2009 and among other things has effectively led our donor
wall committee in bringing the project to its current status. The committee is on track to
fulfill a spring 2013 installation goal.
Donna and I met with a prospective new board member, Jeth Jones, who submitted an
application to join the Friends board. We agree that he would be a good fit for our board
and would like to recommend him to City Council for appointment to the Friends board.
Donna has emailed his board application to all of you. Are there any questions or
comments? All in favor of his being recommended to council for board appointment,
please say yea. Any opposed? It was unanimous that we recommend Jeth Jones to City
Council for appointment to the Friends Board.)
At this juncture, I would like to ask for approval of the May 2012 Friends meeting minutes.
They were emailed to all along with the agenda for this meeting. Can I have a motion to
approve the minutes as they stand? Courtney Archer made a motion to approve, and Anne
Freeman seconded the motion to approve. Next, we will move on to reports.

IV. Park Lovers' 2013 Ball (Kristine Martinez)
The PLB2013 will take place February 2, 2013 at the Hilton of the Americas and this year's
theme will be Moonlight in the Park. Janine and Michael Schueppert will be the Honorary
Chairs.
The band will be The Grooves. They are based out of Austin. The Grooves play all styles
of music and entertain with a fun, funky and energized show. They are a six piece band.
They will DJ during their breaks and they promise to keep the dance floor packed all nightll

Donna, Maria Elena Herbst, Decorations Chair, and I will be meeting at the Hilton on
September 17, 2012 for some preliminary planning. We will also meet with Claudia
Behring, Senior Catering Manager to address any questions we have to date.
