Board Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, September 5, 2012
Friends of West University Place Parks Fund, Inc. ("Friends") Board met on Wednesday, September
5, 2012 at 11:30 AM at West University Place Recreation Center, 4210 Bellaire Blvd, West University
Place, TX.

1. Call to Order (Amanda McGee)
The meeting was called to order at 11:35 AM.
II. Welcome, Opening Remarks and Approval of Minutes (Amanda McGee)
Welcome back everyone after a three month recess from board meetings. We are back to
meeting on the first Wednesday of each month unless otherwise notified. Along these
lines, please note that our October meeting will be held on the second Wednesday,
October 10, instead of Wednesday October 3, due to Fathers & Flashlights being on
October 6-7. All meetings are held here at the Rec Center conference room unless
otherwise notified. Busy summer with the first Friends Party on the Patio Concert Series
held in June and planning for Fathers & Flashlights to be held Oct. 6-7. Kristine Martinez is
also busy getting the ball rolling on PLB 2013. There has been some donor wall committee
activity as well this summer. Congratulations to Katie and Chris Hill on welcoming their new
baby boy into the world. Bradley Danger Hill arrived on August 15 weighing in at 6 pounds
and 9 ounces. Friends extended a warm welcome to Bradley by delivering a stork to the
Hills front yard announcing his arrival.
A few board member changes are to be noted: We had some board members whose
terms on the board have expired effective 8/31/12. They are Leah Ragiel, Sue Hanna, and
Steve Primrose. All are rolling over to the Friends Advisory Board so they will continue to
be involved. Following today's board meeting beginning at 12:30, there is a reception
being held honoring Leah for her many years of service on the board and for serving as our
chair for the past two years. I hope you are all planning to stay for that. There will be a
brief program and refreshments are being provided. Sue Hanna has also served on the
