ORDINANCE NO. - 273 AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF INSTRUCTOR OR POLICE PERSONNEL :I~ IN T~, CITY OF 'NES~ U11IVERpITY '.,J'LACE , TEXAS; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIE S ill, OF SUCH..INSTRUCTOR; PROVIDING, COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE HOLDER _ OF SUCH OFFICE; FIXING k"N EFFECTIVE DATE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDI- NANCES OF THE CITY IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. ' BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: I That there is hereby created and established the position and office of Instructor of Police Personnel in the City 01' West Uni- versity Place, Texas. Such ol':t'ice shall be filled and such of1'icer shall be appointed by a majority vote of the City Commission of the City, and such Instructor of Police Personnel shall hold his office subject to the will and action of the City Commission. II The Instructor of Police Personnel shall be responsible for the instructing and schOOling of the members of the Police Department of the City of West University Place. He shall hold ,classes and give such instruction as to him shall seem proper and expedient for the purposes of advising, instructing and directing the members of the said Police Departm'ent .in their duties as such' officers; and such I!II----'I schooling shall include any and all subjects and matters that shall be prescribed by the said Instructor, and he shall be fully responsible for the planning of such courses and the actual instruction given pur- 'suant thereto. He shall hold classes and meetings of the Police personnel of the City at such times and at such places as shall be designated and directed by him. He shall require all police officers of the City to faithfully atttend each and all of the classes and meet- ings of instruction planned, prescribed and held by the Instructor of Police Personnel unless speci1'ically excused from'such attendance by the Instructor. ' III The Instructor of Police Personnel shall receive as compen- sation for his services from the City the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per month, payable in Twenty-five Dollar ($25.00) semi-monthly installments. IV All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are herebY repealed insofar as such conflicts exist only. v This ordinances shall become efrective on November 1, 1943.
