AN ORDINANCE LEVYI11G T~:\XES FOR THE YEAR 1942
FOR AND WI THIN THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS, AGATNST ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY
WITHIN SAID CITY :FOR ALL :MUNICIPAL PURPOSES;
AND LEVYING A SPECIAL TAX FOR THE PURPOSE OF
MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OB THE DEPART.MENT OF
HEALTH AND SANITATION AND PROVIDING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL T AXE EFFECT .AND BE IN FORCE
IMMEDIATELY FROM AND AFTER ITS DATE OF PASSAGE
hND AFPROV AL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 'lEE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
\ SECTION ,1.
That there be and there is hereby levied against all
ta:x:aqle property within the corporate limits of the Qt ty of
West University Place, Texas, as the same existed on January
1, 1942, an ad valorem tax of and at the rate of $1.65 on each
$~OO.OO valuation of property aga~nst the property in said City
for the purpose of raising revenue for all municipal purposes
in said G:ity for the year 1942 as provided by the laWS of this
State; and that there be and there is hereby levied against all
taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of West
University Place, Texas, as the same existed on January 1, 1942,
a tax of and at the rate of 5 cents on each $100.00 valuation.

Said tax is hereby segregated and levied more in detail

fund for the 808,877.78 refunding bonds dated on or about '
April 10, 193 on each $100.00 valuation of taxable propertyl

on or about July 7, 1939 on each $100.00 valuation of taxable

property within the corporate limits of said City of West Uni-
versity Place, Texas.
SECTION III.
There being no rule of the City Commission and no provision
to the contr~ry in the Oharter of said City regarding ordinances
to be read or pass~d at more than one meeting, it is further
ordered and ordained that this ordainance take effect and be in
force immediately from and after" its passage and approval..
