He was able to get this deal since the rubber base that was installed in 2008 had not lived up to expectations. This funding request will be presented to City Council for approval at a meeting in the near future. Secondly, Friends opted not to fund an additional $5100 to change out some brand new equipment at Judson. Friends recently underwrote both Phase I and Phase II of Judson for over $200,000 and the City spent additional money resurfacing the tennis courts. Some neighbors are unhappy with the cohesiveness of the play structures and feel there is a lack of play structures for the 8-12 year old age group. Despite this vocal group (of unknown size), Friends decided that at this time, additional funds would not be allocated for this. IV. Park Lovers' 2012 Ball (Courtney Archer, Anne Freeman) The current numbers for PLB 2012 include approximately $222,000 of funds from underwriting and approximately $200,000 worth of items for the auction (fair market value). Thompson and Hanson have generously agreed to loan us topiaries as well as other greenery for the event. Auction catalogs are being delivered to guest this week. They will not be distributed at the ball, so attendees can bring their catalogs with them if they wish. There will be complimentary parking at the ball, but some self parking spots will be available across the street in the First City Tower Garage. The chairs suggest carpooling with friends and neighbors. More day-of volunteers are needed to help with set up at the event. Please contact Anne or Courtney if you are available to help (a volunteer schedule was passed around for people to sign up). The two most needed time slots are 11 am-1 pm and 10:45am-12:45pm. At the beginning of dinner, there will be a blessing and some announcements. Please help by politely encouraging your table to have a seat and lower conversations. V. City Council Report (Susan Sample) None presented. VI. Other Reports and Announcements (Donna LaMond) Heather Chilivetis and Susie Garofolo have resigned from the board. Thanks to both for their services to our community. Please be on the lookout for anyone who might be interested in joining the board, particularly someone who would be able to help with public relations or the stork project. Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:27 PM.
