There will be many opportunities to volunteer for set-up the day of the ball (and the weeks preceding. Please see attached. Judson Park Redevelopment (Tim O'Connor) See Attached Phase Two of the Judson Park is about one week away from completion. The attached documents show proposed enhancements to the redevelopment. We are hoping that private donors will provide the majority of the funds needed to Friends who will then trade out the existing play structure with this proposed structure. Amanda McGee made the motion to move forward with the play structure trade- out once the funds are available. Courtney Archer seconded the motion and the board unanimously voted in favor. The Scout House renovation is complete. Whitt Johnson Park is on the radar for enhancements in 2012. City Council Report (Susan Sample) None presented Other Reports and Announcements (Donna LaMond) A media event and reception was held at the Rec Center on Nov. 8 and a check presentation was made by Steven Murray, President Residential Direct Energy, to Friends in the amount of $50,000. We are very excited about Direct Energy becoming the Friends 2012 title sponsor. As stated previously, the funds will be applied through our three fund raising events in 2012 starting with $30,000 towards Park Lovers' Ball in February, $10,000 towards the Party on the Patio Concert Series in June, and $10,000 towards Fathers & Flashlights in October. We are working on coming up with a display for the large check which might not only show our appreciation for Direct Energy's donation, but might also encourage others to step up and consider a corporate sponsorship. Another meeting of the donor wall committee took place on Nov. 16 and we are off and running on doing the research and figuring out the criteria for going on the wall. Steve Primrose has done a great job of leading the committee and is keeping us on task. He sends his regrets for not being here today, he is in California on business. The committees is scheduled to meet again on Dec. 14. Friends and the IRS - We are currently working on obtaining an abatement of a penalty that we were accessed by the IRS. Our CPA is working with me on this. Stock Donation - We received our first ever request, as far as I am aware of, to donate stock as payment for PLB. I have asked Sue Hanna to help me do a
