• After much research, we have made the decision to pursue a Humana
Community Benefits Grant. Humana awards a one-time $ I OOK grant to a
non-profit in Houston that is focusing on health experiences and building
healthy communities. The deadline for grant submission is Friday, June 17`x'.
Events
+ Fathers and Flashlights and Park Lovers' Ball were both extremely successful
again this year. We thank Courtney and A and Amy and Jennifer for
chairing these events this past year. I also want to thank the board and Donna
for your contributions to the success of those events.
Treasurer's Report-Amy Sahely

Parks and Recreation Report-Tim O'Connor
Friends has received a $5,444 contribution from a West University Place resident to be
used as Friends/Parks and Recreation Department see fit. Tim proposed the funds be
used to install a decorative water fountain as part of Phase I of Judson Park renovations
as well as a water fountain at Colonial Park. .
On behalf of the Mayor, City Council and the Parks and Recreation Department, Tim
presented board members with a commemorative lapel pin with gratitude and
appreciation for the work of the Friend's board and fundraising accomplishments.
New Business
A motion was made by Heather Chilivetis and seconded by Adrienne Vanderbloemen to
approve the use of up to but not more than $5,000 for the purchase and installation of a
decorative water fountain at Judson Park and Colonial Park.
