HomeMy WebLinkAboutF Minutes 01052011CExecutive Director's Report - Donna Laond I hope you have all been getting the emailed weekly reports forwarded from the Parks & Rec Department which include information on Friends activities. If at any time anyone would like more details than what is provided in the weekly report, I will be happy to provide them. Fathers & Flashlights: Met with new chairs along with Parks & Rec staff. PLB 2011, underwriting campaign paying off. Jennifer Debow, Amy Reeves and Elizabeth Allen have done a great job. We need the board members who have not fulfilled their board responsibilities with soliciting five auction items with a value of at least $100 to get their items turned in by next week at the latest. If getting items or certificates in not working for anyone, you can always donate cash instead. The chairs need more wine for the wine pull and can purchase gift certificates to compliment packages, etc. Sue Hanna is inputting the auction items for us. Susie Boyce is our reservations person again this year and we had our first meeting yesterday to get things started. Invitations going in the mail this coming Friday. We just approved the underwriting listing yesterday that will be included in the invitation. Direct Energy has stepped up as our largest underwriter at $15,000 and we have a photo shoot this coming Friday and a press release is getting readied to send out next week with photos announcing this wonderful news. Meeting at the Hilton, tasting scheduled. Keep in mind that all board members are expected to help during the set up for the ball and/or help with check out at the ball. We will have a signup sheet at the next meeting so that we can get everything scheduled and line up. Friends Board: Welcome to Sonny Brandmer, our newest Friends board member who is going to be our event support person on the board. Continuing to update new Friends website as needed. Naming and sponsorship opportunities/donor recognition vehicles - Steve Primrose has been spearheading this effort as Leah will report on Steve's behalf later in the meeting. Attended Judson Park Task force meeting. Board Reports Events Park Lovers' Ball 2011- Amy Reeves UW numbers at $141k and counting Invites going out this week Food tasting set for next week - hotel working with our budget and theme to provide best meal possible Discounted hotel room rate and code for securing a room will be announced this week Auction - great updates on new trips, still need Board to fulfill commitment of 5 items at $100 value each. If unable to provide items, please provide check (for $500) which will be used to purchase wine for Wine Pull. Special thanks to Headier, Sonny, Adrienne and Arlene for securing so many great items.
