Board Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, March 3, 2010
Friends of West University Place Parks Board met on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at West University Place City Hall,
3800 University, in the conference room.
The following were in attendance:

• OMG! Park Lovers' Crystal Ball was a huge success! Kara, Daryl, and Jennifer did an amazing job! The
food, beverages, and decor were terrific, the auction was a huge success, and the band had us all dancing like
it was 19791 Thanks to the three of you and the entire committee for your hard work and dedication to Friends.
At the ball, I announced that we would place a paver in one of the parks in honor of each of you and your
families as a token of our appreciation but since everyone was a little rowdy, you might not have heard that!
Truly, we appreciate all that you have done for our parks and our community. The three of you just SPARKLE
and so does the rest of the committee which I am sure they will talk about in their report along with details from
the evening!! Thanks.
• No rest for the weary...on to PLB 2011 - we have started discussing dates and venue and Donna will talk
about that in her report. We need chairs so please make suggestions!
• Sashay Event was a huge success, as well ...thanks to Arlene for her hard work on this project and to all who
modeled and attended as well as to Pat Dahnke, Goode Cc Armadillo, the vendors, both bands, emcee,
make-up and hair artists, photographer, and our guests!
• On 1/19, Donna and I plus PARD staff, a few board members and council members accepted the best design
award for a park under $500K on behalf of Friends at a special celebration. It was very nice.
• Rao Center playground task force meetings are going well and our order has been placed (I think by now) so
watch for another wonderful playground coming soon.
• Condolences to Elizabeth who lost her grandfather last week.
• Lastly, thanks to the city for hosting this nice lunch for us. Enjoyf l M!
Approval of the Minutes and Sian-In Sheet -Robin McGowan {in place of Judy Bouillion}
The meeting minutes from the January 2010 board meeting have not been distributed, so no approval needed at this
meeting. They will be approved at the April meeting.
