Colonial Pool 2011 Season Update: Tim O'Connor - We are at 32% of revenue projections 11 days into operations. Membership sales are already ahead of last year. Concessionaire is very happy with food sales, Staff is doing a very good job. Second group of lifeguards are graduating this Saturday. John Cadena suggested that many people are not aware they can rent Colonial Park on Saturday evening - consider increasing PR to raise awareness. VI. 2011 Easter Eggstravaganza Activity Critique: Janine, Kevin, Sons, Tim: - Between 300-400 people attended this year. One of the key challenges was parking for the event - next year we will look at having Scouts serve as parking assistants. A recommendation for next year is to plan a "come and go" Easter Trail with "stations" that are staffed by different sponsors giving out goodies. This approach would allow us to expand the window of time for the festival, give families more flexibility for when they come, and remove 'competitiveness' from the event. Discussed having additional activities next year such as face painting, caricature artist, balloon animals, petting zoo, "train", etc. Discussed selling West U branded towels, hat, blankets, sunscreen thru the Concessionaire at Colonial Park as good PR for Friends and as a service to customers. Discussed starting the 4m of July activities at 9:00am instead of 10:00am due to heat. VII. Sona indicated that there has been some decrease in the number of cars parking on the street next to the park, and neighbors are hoping that when the nearby parking lot opens up, that visitors will park there. Also discussed was the idea of giving residents living next to the park dashboard signs for their cars indicating "Resident Parking Permit" to try and deter others to not park there. VIII. Board Reports: Park Ambassador Reports - Kevin Boyle mentioned that Park goers tend to leave gates open at the various Parks. He inquired if self-closing hinges might be an option to increase safety. Tim indicated that a couple of parks already have self-closing
