CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
The City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas, met in regular session on Monday,
December 5, 2011, in the Municipal Building, 3800 University Boulevard, West University Place, Texas
beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Agenda items were as follows
Mayor Fry called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. Council and staff in attendance were: Mayor Pro
Tern Sample, Councilmembers Heathcott, Johnson and Yehle, City Manager Ross, and City Secretary
Lenz.
City Secretary Lenz confirmed that the Notice of the special and regular meetings was duly posted in
accordance with the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
1. Convene into Closed Executive Session
Notice is hereby given that the City Council will convene into Executive Session in accordance with
the following provision of Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.
At 5:33 p.m., Councilmember Heathcott moved to recess the regular meeting and convene into
closed executive session per section 551.074 of Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code to
discuss the evaluations of the city manager and the city secretary.
2. Reconvene into Regular Session
Matters related to action, if any, relative to discussions held in Executive Sessions regarding the City
Manager's and City Secretary's evaluations.
At 6:30 p.m., Mayor Fry closed the executive session and reconvened the regular session. The
following action was taken:
Councilmember Heathcott moved to increase the city manager's salary by 3 percent as of August,
2011. Councilmember Yehle seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.
Ayes: Fry, Sample, Heathcott, Johnson, Yehle
Noes: None
Absent: None
Councilmember Heathcott moved to increase the City Secretary's salary to $85,804.00 for 2012,
effective January 1, 2012. Councilmember Johnson seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.

Noes: None

3. Adjourn
With no other business before Council, Councilmember Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting
at 6:32 p.m. Mayor Pro Tern Sample seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.
