CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
The City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas, met in special and regular sessions on
Monday, May 9, 2011, in the Colonial Park Multi-Purpose Room, 4130 Byron, West University Place,
Texas beginning at 5:45 p.m.
SPECIAL WORKSHOP
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Kelly called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. Council and staff in attendance were: Mayor Pro
Tem Fry, Councilmembers Boehme, Guffey, and Segal, City Manager Ross, City Secretary Lenz, City
Attorney Petrov, and Assistant City Manager/Public Works Director Peifer.
City Secretary Lenz confirmed that the Notice of the special and regular meetings was duly posted in
accordance with the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
Agenda items were discussed as follows:
1. Residential Development
Matters related to the development of platted lots.
At 5:45 p.m., Mayor Pro Tern Fry moved to recess the special workshop and convene into Executive
Session in accordance with Section 551.071 in Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code
(consultation with legal counsel to seek or receive legal advice). Councilmember Guffey seconded
the motion. MOTION PASSED.

Noes: None
Absent: None
At 6:30 p.m., Mayor Pro Tern Fry moved to close the Executive Session and reconvene into the
special workshop. Councilmember Guffey seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.

Noes: None
Absent: None
With no action taken related to the Executive Session, at 6:30 p.m., Mayor Pro Tern Fry moved to
adjourn the special workshop. Councilmember Guffey seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.

REGULAR MEETING
Agenda items were as follows:
Mayor Kelly called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance and Pledge to
the Texas Flags.
All present for the special workshop was also present for the regular meeting. Chief Walker was
also in attendance for the regular session.
2. Public Comments
There were no comments from the public.
3. Consent Agenda
All Consent Agenda items listed were considered to be routine by the City Council and was enacted by
one motion. There were no separate discussions of these items.
A. City Council Minutes
Approve City Council minutes of April 25, 2011.
B. Appointment to Seniors Board
Matters related to the appointment of a member to the Seniors Board.
Councilmember Boehme moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Mayor Pro Tern Fry
seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.

4. Reports by Council/Staff
There were no Council/Staff reports.
5. Adiourn
With no further business before the Council, at 6:35 p.m., Councilmember Boehme moved to
adjourn the regular meeting. Mayor Pro Tern Fry seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED.
