~ ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
MINUTES FROM MAY 16, 1991
REGULAR SESSION
The Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting came to order at 7:30
P.M. with Chairman Charles Lusk, Sterling Minor, Teresa
Fogler, Victor Hansen and Doris Marshall present. Brent
Sherrod, Director of Engineering and Construction, Cecil
Boles, Assistant Building Official, and Elizabeth Bethune,
Secretary, from the city were present. Notices were read
and participants were sworn in.
The firat case on the docket was #91-5, 6701 Brompton.
Procedures were explained and members introduced themselves.
Philip Lewis owner of the property located at 6701 Brompton
came before the Zoning Board of Adjustment asking for an
interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance concerning rotating
corners. Mr. Lewis wants to build a house on the corner of
Brompton and Cason with the front facing Brompton as
originally platted.
Brent Sherrod stated that Mr. Lewis submitted his plans for
the new house before the new ordinance on rotating corners
• went into effect.
Shirley Glash the resident at 6712 Brompton, spoke in favor
of Mr. Lewis.
David Humphrey the resident at 6713 Brompton, spoke in
opposition.
Doris Marshall made motion to close the public portion of
the hearing. Teresa Fogler seconded and motion carried.
The second case on the docket was #91-6, 6009 Charlotte.
Marilyn Logan the owner of 6009 Charlotte came before the
board requesting a variance to build a garage outside the
side setback.
After a brief discussion with board, Marilyn Logan withdrew
her application because she decided to build the garage
within the side setback area.
Sterling Minor made motion that the Zoning Board of
Adjustment defer the hearing on docket #91-6. Teresa Fogler
seconded and motion carried unanimously.
Doris Marshall made motion to close the public portion of
the hearing. Sterling Minor seconded and motion carried.
• After a brief discussion Sterling Minor made motion to
accept that the Zoning Ordinance applicable to this property
provided for a front setback on Brompton and a side setback

i on Cason. Doris Marshall seconded and motion carried
unanimously.
Motion was made by Sterling Minor and seconded by Doris
Marshall to approve the minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Motion was made by Doris Marshall and seconded by Teresa
Fogler to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried and the
, meeting adjourned at 8:35.
