HomeMy WebLinkAbout12022010 BSC Agenda City of West University Place A Neighborhood City ® Recycled Paper Notice of Building & Standards Commission Meeting Notice is hereby given that the Building & Standards Commission (BSC) and members of the City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas will hold a meeting on: December 2, 2010 Beginning at 6:00 P.M. In the Municipal Building, Council Chambers, Located at 3800 University Blvd, West University Place, Texas 77005 The subjects of the meeting are as follows: [Call to Order.] 1. Notices, Rules, Etc. Matters relating to announcements, notices, introductions, rules, meeting procedures and identifying parties. 2. Meeting Minutes. Matters relating to discussion and approval of the meeting minutes of April 1, 2010 and April 20, 2010. 3. Docket Number 2010-04, Property at 3315 University, West University Place, Texas 77005 regarding a variance to Chapter 18-65 (c)(1)(2) allowing additional time to demolish a structure for material reuse by Habitat for Humanity. a. Public hearing regarding matters relating to allow a request by Jane Elam and Bridget Wicklander to allow additional time to demolish a structure for material reuse by Habitat for Humanity. b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters. 4. Docket Number 2010-05, Property at 3122 Georgetown, West University Place, Texas 77005 regarding a special exception to City Code of Ordinances Appendix C, Section C-104, 3a and 5b not to provide Errors and Omissions Insurance. a. Public hearing regarding matters relating to a special exception to City Code of Ordinances Appendix C, Section C-104, 3a and 5b not to provide Errors and Omissions insurance. b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters. 5. Docket Number 2010-06, Property at 3756 University, West University Place, Texas 77005 Regarding a variance to Chapter 18, section 18-59a. a. Public Hearing to discuss allowing a portable classroom to remain, as previously allowed by variance dated August 20, 2009, Docket Number 2009-02, at 3756 University Blvd. as long as required by the State of Texas to maintain the required teacher to pupil ratio. The previous variance expired September 1. 2010. b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters. 6. Basements and other Subterranean Structures. Matters relating to excavations and other subterranean structures, including possible code amendments as directed by City Council. 7. Executive Session (if necessary). The Commission reserves the right to at any time during the session to convene in a closed session pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, for reasons including but not limited to: Section 551.071 (consultation with legal counsel to seek or receive legal advice or consultation regarding pending or contemplated litigation); Section 551.087 (deliberation regarding economic development). 8. Convene into Open Session. Take action, if any. Adjournment.
