CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP SESSION
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1999
MUNICIPAL BUILDING
3800 UNIVERSITY BLVD.
6:30 P.M.
The City Council convened in Workshop Session in the Municipal Building Conference
Room (3800 University Blvd.) on September 27, 1999, with the following members
present: Mayor Lewis presiding, Council Members Ballanfant, Bertini, Grubb and May.
The City Secretary, City Attorney, Parks and Recreation Director, Finance Director, Fire
Chief, Police Chief and Public Works Director were also present.
AGENDA REVIEW:
The City Council reviewed the regular meeting agenda and discussed items under
consideration with the Staff.
ISO RATING:
Matters related to the ISO rating and the fiscal year 2000 budget.
Fire Chief Terry Stevenson reviewed the ISO rating process and the City's options for
reducing insurance costs.
The City Council recessed the Workshop Session at 7:30 p.m. The Workshop Session
reconvened at 8:48 p.m.
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS:
Matters related to goals and objectives for Boards and Commissions.
The City Council discussed goals and objectives for the Boards and Commissions.
REPORT FROM BOARD OR COMMISSION LIAISON:
The City Council reported on a Board or Commission meeting attended by the liaison.
Council Member Bertini reported on the meeting held by the Traffic Task Force and
presented a charter as adopted by the Task Force.
ANNUAL FESTIVAL:
Matters related to the annual concert and festival with the City of Southside Place.

Mayor Lewis read the list of members who have agreed to help with the annual festival.
She stated that the first order of business was to set a date for the festival and arrange for
a band to play.
APPOINTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEMBER:
Matters related to the appointment of a member to the Parks and Recreation Board.
The City Council will not fill the vacant position at this time.
INQUIRIES, REQUESTS AND COMPLAINTS:
The City Council reviewed matters received from the public and referred them to the
appropriate department.
ADJOURNMENT:
With no further business to come before the City Council at this time, a motion was made
by Council Member Grubb, seconded by Council Member Bertini, to adjourn. The
Workshop Session adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
