HomeMy WebLinkAbout042310S CC MinThe City of West University Place (rdl A Neighborhood City CITY COUNCIL Bob Kelly, Mayor Bob Fry, Councilmember George Boehme, Councilmember Steven Segal, Councilmember Chuck Guffey, Councilmember STAFF Michael Ross, City Manager Alan Petrov, City Attorney Thelma Lenz, City Secretary CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL WORKSHOP MINUTES City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas, met in a special workshop meeting on Friday, April 23, 2010, in the Municipal Building, 3800 University Boulevard, West University Place, Texas beginning at 4:00 p.m. Council and staff in attendance: Mayor Kelly, Councilmembers Boehme, Guffey and Segal, City Manager Ross, City Secretary Lenz, City Attorney Petrov, Police Chief Walker, and Human Resources Director Standorf. Mayor Pro Tern Fry was absent. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Kelly called the special workshop meeting to order at 4:00 p.m., at which time Councilmember Segal moved to recess the open session and convene into executive session to discuss the following agenda items. Councilmember Guffey seconded the motion. With all present in favor of the motion, MOTION PASSED. 1. City Council Roles and Responsibilities Matters related to City Council's roles and responsibilities. 2. Whit Johnston Park Usage Matters related to Whit Johnson Park Usage. Discussion of both items was held in closed executive session in accordance with Section 551.071 in Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code (consultation with legal counsel to seek or receive legal advice or consultation regarding pending or contemplated litigation). At 4:50 p.m., Councilmember Segal moved to adjourn the executive session and reconvene the workshop. Councilmember Boehme seconded the motion. At 4:52, before a vote on the motion was made, Councilmember Segal left the workshop At 4:54 p.m., a vote was taken on the motion. MOTION PASSED. Ayes: Kelly, Boehme, and Guffey Noes: None Absent: Fry and Segal City Council Minutes, April 23, 2010 With no further discussion, Councilmember Boehme moved to adjourn the Special Workshop.
