Notice of Zoning Board of Adjustment Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) and Zoning and
Planning Commission of the City of West University Place, Texas will meet on:
October 16, 2008
Beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Bill Watson Conference Room of the Municipal Building,
3800 University Boulevard, West University Place, Texas 77005

1. Notices, Rules, Etc. Matters relating to notices, rules and meeting procedures,
identifying parties, swearing of witnesses, etc.
2. Docket No. 06-08, Property at 3116 Rice Blvd., West University Place, Texas
77005 (Time Extension Request gj
a. Time Extension Request regarding the following matters: Yards or Setbacks.
Applicant requests a time extension to complete the project relating to Docket
06-08 (variance granted 11/16/06). Time extension is requested for a period of
time not to exceed four months.
b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters.
3. Docket No. 08-07, regarding property at 5802 Kirby, West University Place,
Texas 77005, (Variance)
a. Public hearing regarding the following matters: Off Street Parking. Applicant
requests a variance to allow the use of a restaurant without requiring additional
parking spaces for a food service use in a shopping center. The proposed tenant is
Wok on Wheels, a 2,000 square foot Chinese takeout and delivery restaurant.
There will be no dine-in service available at this location.
b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters.
4. Docket No. 08-08, regarding property at 5708 Buffalo Speedway, West University
Place, Texas 77005, (Special Exception)
a. Public hearing regarding the following matters: Dead End or Stub Driveway or
Parking Space. Applicant requests a special exception to allow a stub or dead end
driveway in the front yard as an alternate design for maneuvering area.
b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters.
5. Docket No. 08-06, regarding property at 5308 Buffalo Speedway and 3303
Bissonnet, West University Place, Texas 77005, (Special Exception)
a. Public hearing regarding the following matters: Uses. Applicant requests a
special exception to allow accessory uses, other than worship facilities in a Single

family residential district: parking, outdoor kids play area, Sunday school, day
care, indoor kids play area, fellowship hall, gathering hall, office and kitchen.

on April 17, 2008 and June 19, 2008.
