Notice of Building & Standards Commission Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Building & Standards Commission (BSC) and members
of the City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas will hold a meeting on:
October 5, 2006
Beginning at 6:00 P.M.
In the Municipal Building, Bill Watson Conference Room,
Located at 3800 University Blvd, West University Place, Texas 77005.
The subjects of the meeting are as follows:
[Call to Order.]
1. Notices, Rules, Etc. Matters relating to notices, introductions, rules, meeting procedures
and identifying parties.
2. Docket No. 06-03, Request for suspension of contractor registration (Yago Custom Homes)
and determination of "alter ego entities". (see Section 18-3 of the Code of Ordinances).
a. Presentations by City staff and others.
b. Opportunity for the contractor and "alter ego entities" to respond.
C. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters.
3. Docket No. 06-04, Request by Lovett Homes for a variance to Appendix C, Technical Codes
and Section R109 of the International Residential Code for a structure located at 2704
Barbara Lane,
a. Presentations by applicant, City staff and others.
b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters.
4. Discussion Concerning Alternate Piping Materials. Matters relating to a previous request by
Terry Donahoe to consider possible code amendments allowing the use of XPA Plumb Better
piping as an alternative to copper tubing.
5. Flood Protection and Prevention Regulations. Matters relating to a preliminary report to City
Council concerning floodplains, floodplain management regulations, FIRM's, base flood
elevations, drainage, flooding, building heights, etc.
6. Portable On Demand Storage (PODS). Matters relating to possible code amendments
regulating portable on demand storage units.
7. Address Numbers. Matters relating to discussion and approval of proposed ordinance
amendments regulating permanent address numbers.
8. Meeting Minutes. Matters relating to discussion and approval of the meeting minutes of
September 7, 2006.
