Notice of Building & Standards Commission Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Building & Standards Commission (BSC) and members
of the City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas will hold a meeting on:
November 6, 2008
Beginning at 6:00 P.M.
In the Municipal Building, Bill Watson Conference Room,
Located at 3800 University Blvd, West University Place, Texas 77005.
The subjects of the meeting are as follows:

1. Notices, Rules, Etc. Matters relating to announcements, notices, introductions, rules, meeting procedures
and identifying parties.
2. Meeting Minutes. Matters relating to discussion and approval of the meeting minutes of October 2, 2008.
3. Docket Number 08-02 Property at 4144 Coleridge West Universitv Place Texas 77005 (Time
Extension Request ONLY)
a. Time Extension Request regarding the following matters: Applicant request a time extension to
apply for a permit to repair and/or demolish the detached garage structure located at 4144
Coleridge.
b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters.
• 4. Docket Number 08-05 regarding: (a) a variance from Section 70-113(b) of the Code of Ordinances to
allow a building to be moved from one site inside the City (4149 Oberlin) to another site inside the
City (6522 Community and (b) a variance from Section 70-116(d) to allow a building to be moved
with a central peak higher than 17.5 feet
a. Public Hearing regarding matters relating to allow a request by Jarnes Stuart, Julie A. Jackson,
Chad & Marlena Terrell to allow a building to be moved from one site inside the City to another
site inside the City and to allow a building to be moved with a central peak of higher than 17.5
feet.
b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters.
5. Docket_ Number 08-06 regarding a variance from Chapter 6 Section 6-25(c)(4) of the Code of
Ordinances to allow a sign to be mounted on a facade other than the one used to calculate the
relevant facade area, such sign being proposed to be located at 3924 Bellaire Blvd
a. Public Hearing regarding matters relating to allow a request by Texas Backdraft to allow a sign to
be mounted on a facade other than the one used to calculate the relevant facade area for table 3-2
of Section 6-28.
b. Deliberation, decisions, other action, etc. regarding the preceding matters.
6 Construction Code Updates. Matters relating to discussion concerning the International Code Council
(ICC) construction codes and possible updated including building, electrical, plumbing, gas, mechanical,
etc. codes.
