Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Joni Fichter at 6:25 P.M. Those in attendance were: Joni Fichter, Gayle Jackson, Mark Mailes, Karin Dubose, Cheryl Butler,Cece McCann, Leah Ragiel, Win Graham, Cheryl Butler, Vicki Grams, and City Council Liaison, Danny Jackson 2. President's Report: Joni welcomed new board members Cece McCann and Leah Ragiel. Marisue Tallichet has resigned. There is new letterhead and rosters. Joni announced that Leah Ragiel will be the chair of the 2004 PLB. Sherry Gift and Vicki Grams will split up their board job and Maria Elena Herbst will select a new job. "Friends" will purchase 2 large playgound sets for Colonial (approximately a $50,000 expenditure) 3. Approval of Minutes Win Graham moved that the minutes of the March meeting be approved; Karin Dubose seconded. The minutes were approved 4. Treasurer's Report The report was passed to all members present; receipts from the ball should be turned in to Joni for approval and she will forward to Ross; when taking money to Ross, make sure to call first and personally hand money to him or his wife, Carol; include a brief description of what the money is for or from; Ross needs operating budget from all chairs 5. Board Reports E-Store: Cheryl Butler to meet with Donna LaMond to learn billing system, how to fill orders and how to make sure members get what they are promised; Cheryl to also meet with Walter (City) to determine what is taxable and what is not; let Donna know Foundations and Large Gifts: working on documents now to submit to Brown Foundation, Wortham Foundation and Farish Foundation; Tara Wurthrich to send shopping list info to Karin Dubose Website: let Donna LaMond know if correnctions need to be made to the website; wish list from parks and Rec will be update regularly; will be ads and links to donors Public Relations & Historian: Chronicle to be doing article on PLB; let Donna know of any subjects you would like to have an article written on Membership and Magazine: Patricia Rorschach could use help with this; all board members should join to show 100% participation; membership forms could be put in water bills Special Events: May 23 there will be a Neighborhood Pride Tour; may need help with this Planned Giving and Memorials: Win Graham could use a committee; would like to have Donna LaMond to write an article about this subject; goal this year is to raise $25,000; maybe put card in water bill with membership forms and wish list PLB 2003: Chairperson Cece McCann stated that the theme will be Park Avenue; kick off party at her home Sunday, April 7; Maria Elena Herbst will head up the auction committee; Vicki Grams will be helping with the hotel and food; this years ball raised approximately $114,000. PLB Recognition and Follow Up: Sue Hanna following up on all promised perks for the underwriters Wish List and Giving Tree: Vicki Grams and Maria Elena Herbst to head this committee since Stephanie Langenstein is moving; Maria Elena and Vicki to follow up on what has been sold from the wish list; William Altman requested that his donation go toward a backstop; Business Partners: No report Council Report: New 12 foot lights will have 150 foot spacing and will throw light on sidewalks for safety Parks and Rec Report: Colonial construction scheduled for May Executive Director Search: have four applications and interviews scheduled; ad put in National Society of Fundraising Executives 6. Old Business: Address is now 6104 Auden, 77005 7. New Business: City Attorney Jim Daugherty will be called to see if we need Director's Insurance 8.
