Board of Directors' Meeting
Municipal Building Conference Room
November 6, 2002
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:20 P.M. Those in attendance were: Joni Fichter,
Gayle Jackson, Ross Frazer, Karin Dubose, Sue Hanna, Win Graham, Mark Mailes,
Lynne Goddard, Whitney Walsh, Danielle Kernell, Chris Simon, Charlie Henke, Cece
McCann, Leah Ragiel, Beverly Loftis and Linda Lewis
2. President's Report
Joni welcomed new member Whitney Walsh who is the Special Events Chair
3. Approval of Minutes
Minutes of the October meeting were approved, with changes to 5.d.
regarding checking with city attorney Jim Dougherty
4. Executive Director's Report
a. Goal of $7500 for membership drive is $69% complete ($5205); expenses were
$3388; sixty-three member families; two Advisory Board members participated to
date
b. Passed out copies of Farish Fund Grant proposal which is ready for submittal
tomorrow
c. Wish List passed around; have $16,230 toward park
d. Working on expenses to finalize budgets
5. Treasurer's Report
a. Through October have approximately $520,000 in treasury
b. Passed around proposed by-law changes ARTICLE VI, Section 1. (b) (ii); ARTICLE
VI, Section 2.; ARTICLE VII, Section 1.; and adding ARTICLE VII Section 3. as
follows: The Corporation's financial records shall be audited annually by a certified
public accountant. The results of that audit shall be included in the report described
in Section 2. of this Article; all must be approved by Board and filed with Secretary of
State
6. Board Reports
E-Store:
Working on marketing plan; want to do promotion of ornaments at holiday party; inventory
of ornaments complete; can buy 5 and get 1 free
Foundations and Large Gifts
Request of $10,000 to go out to Farish Foundation tomorrow; Hershey Foundation
request will be reviewed 11/15/02; decision in one month; Cullen Foundation request of
$25,000 pending; committee met to focus on individual gift giving; discussed multi-year
giving

Donna LaMond would like to have photos for the site; working on the wishlists for each
park
Membership & Marketing
Working on press releases
Special Events
Trick or Treat for Green was just completed; no figures yet; please turn in money
Santa Fundraiser - Whitney Walsh to get in touch with Maria Elena Herbst about
this
Park Stork - Looking into having "rental" storks for people's yards
Park Lovers Ball - Cece McCann
Chairs needed for home, jewelry and ladies & gents sections; doing lots of calling
to get people to come to the ball
Business Partners - Lynne Goddard
Chick Fil A Spirit Night - not a good turnout, but had fun
$1100 from realtor Kay Holloway has been received
Power Fund - 4 switches since May
Projected completion of the east end of Colonial is 11/22
