Board of Director's Meeting
Municipal Building Conference Room
December 4, 2002
Call to Order
The meeting was calledto order at 6:19 P.M. Those in attendance were: Gayle Jackson,
Patricia Rorschach, Sue Hanna, Vicki Grams, Cheryl Butler, Mark Mailes, Chris Simon,
Lynne Goddard; Leah Ragiel, Danielle Kernell, Joni Fichter, Shannon Gardner, Cece
McCann, WillBertron, and Karin Dubose
President's Report
New board applicant - ask to be committee helper
Approval of the Minutes
Motion made by Chris Simon to approve November 2002 Minutes; second by Lynne
Goddard; motion passed
Executive Director's Report
Memberships - 96% of financial goal reached; 80% of member quantity goal reached;
first donation to Rice Pocket Park - $1,000
Treasurer's Report
December and February requests for payment should be sent to Danielle Kernell as Ross
Frazer out of town
E-Store
$120 worth of ornaments sold at tree lighting
Foundations
Waiting to hear on $10,000 from Hershey and $10,000 from Fari sh; $25,000 from Cullen
to be considered next year as committee meets this month
Website
Donna LaMond working on it; for editing purposes will e-mail pages as created; needs
pictures to be used on our site
Membership and Marketing
Congrats to Patricia Rorschach on baby's birth; 96% of our goal for this year; will have
forms at Newcomer's Club meeting, Seniors meetings and Whine & Twine
Special Events
Think about Santa fundraiser in conjunction with tree lighting next year; Colonial
dedication to be worked on with Will Bertron and Mark Mailes
Park Lovers Ball
Underwriting now at $55,850
PLB Recognition and Follow Up
Coordinated by Sue Hanna
Wish List/Giving Tree
Couple wants to donate something in memory of Erin Hoffman's brother, Jake Young-
Vicki Grams to follow up; Elena chapel funds to purchase tree and bench; something may
be done by Katy Womsley in honor of her mother, Mrs. Whitt Johnson, in honor of her
90`h birthday
Business Partners
Al's Formal Wear - $20 discounts on tux rentals; $10 back to park; 10% off retail goes to
the parks

Council Report
None
Parks and Rec Report
East end open; surfacing material due in two weeks; still need funding for items such as
arbor, seesaw snake, climbing wall, bouncers, entryway landscaping; stonework, etc;
Texas A&M may provide intern Io help with design work for Rice pocket park project
Old Business
Joni and Danielle to meet with Linda Lewis regarding matching grant for Rec Center
after first of year
New Business
Next month's meeting will be 1/07/03 instead of 1/01/03; Linda Lewis suggested that if
park signage is important, it may need to fall into our hands to raise the money; Parks
Board will let us know what they think

Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
