3. Board of Friends of West University Parks Report by Joni Fichter
a. Discussion
i. Update on Rice Pocket Park
1. Completion is near
4. Report on Colonial Shade Structures
a. Progress is being made in acquiring shade for playground
5. Park Ambassador Reports and Discussion
6. Park Beautification
a. Discussion of efforts by Helen and Marty
b. Discussion of efforts concerning entry beautification by Randall and Charles
c. Suggested these efforts could serve as pilot projects and examples for broader
park volunteer beautification program
d. PARDner Program on hold until weather cools
i. Ryan Goodland (Rice Student Volunteer) has been brought in to
project
7. New Business
a. Janine raised possibility of building a tree house in proposed Pittsburgh Park
b. Tim announced a skate park firm will be doing a demonstration in West
University at some time in September.
