City of West University Place Parks & Recreation Board Meeting
December 6, 2000 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:46 P.M.
Staff & Guests Present:

Jim Patterson
Minutes from the November 2000 meeting were read, and a motion to approve was made
by John Graf, seconded by Mike Hood.
Mark Mailes Report
A. Grice house is down
B. Clean up is happening
Burt Ballanfant
A. Negotiating with YMCA - hope to have completed soon
B. Edloe Linear- reviewed bridges. Gave information to county. Will probably be
spring before any action occurs. The construction is fairly simple once they get
started. HL&P will move lights as close to the ditch as possible.
C. Sidewalks - some discussion on sequence and timing. Probably 4 or 5 phases
moving west to east.
D. City Center - discussion of order of projects.

Friends are doing great. They are looking for an auction item from the Board.
Colonial Park
Articulate discussion on issues of design. Jim gave us various scenarios to start the
discussion process. Mark will get documents from Parks & Wildlife to define what our
actual obligations are. Jim is coming back with preliminary design.
