1. Call to order. Meeting was called to order at approximately 7:45 p.m.
II. Approval of Minutes. All minutes were approved.
III. Citizen's Requests and/or Miscellaneous Staff Reports None to report.
IV. Chairman's Report/Update.
Whitt Johnson Park. Mark Mailes reported April 1 open date on target. Minor
items still need to be completed. "Engineered wood product" is material being used -
not mulch-around play equipment. Grand opening to be planned. Will Bertron will visit
with Linda Lewis to coordinate with the Homeplace celebration in April.
V. White Oak Update.
A. Jim Patterson.
Will Bertron gave overview of various city and park projects that are coming
together simultaneously and which Jim has been involved with on a consulting basis.
City will be contracting Jim outside park master plan agreement to ensure a common
theme, look and feel to total project scope of city and parks.
B. Update of Master Plan by Jim Patterson.
- 1300 surveys received (25% of households)
50% input so far
reviewed timeline (attached)
discussed resultant workshop to take data and begin visioning
master plan themes.
C. Edloe linear Park. Jim Patterson reviewed design and communication to
date with county including key fencing, bridge and lighting suggestions. Will Bertron
discussed the potential need for additional sources of funding to cover the additional
design features beyond the bridges that the county has committed to.
D. Future Plans. Will Bertron and Jim Patterson discussed real likelihood of
two major April meetings to handle 1) Edloe final plans and 2) master plan workshop.
Agreed to a special session for next planning meeting on April 25 - pending date check.
VI. Discussion Items.
A. Bill Hall Memorial. Will Bertron reported Kathy Hall Dobbs continues to
work on final aspects of design before work begins.
B. Home Place Celebration Renelle Cadena gave update on celebration
and tennis tournament. Volunteer requests and help needed. (See Attached).
V. Adjournment. Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
