The meeting was called to order at 7:45 PM. Minutes of the
December 7th meeting were approved.
TREASURER'S REPORT
$92,000 and change - unaudited.
STAFF REPORTS
Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Weir Park is set for 1/28/95
at 2 p.m. in conjunction with Arbor Day festivities. Parks Board
members are encouraged to attend, especially Odette Mace and Tim
Hansen as they worked on this park.
WEIR PARK
Mark Mailes was asked to check into the following changes: switch
swings out, remove the phone cord, adjust the handicapped
accessible backhoe to keep it from swinging. Tim Hansen
will check on the lighting.
MILTON STREET PARK
Tim Hansen will call Tom Rushing and Stan McCanless tp see
where we stand on approval of plans. An additional Parks Board
meeting may be necessary.
Carol Burke talked to Kathy Lord from Trees for Houston
regarding getting trees out of our tree bank for this park.
Mark Mailes will get tree specifications to Carol.
Mark Mailes will check with the W.U. Tree People about the Tree
Fund.
JUDSON PARK
Flower beds need maintenance. Mark Mailes will handle.
WHIT JOHNSON
Received reports of lights being on late. Mark Mailes will check.
COLONIAL PARK
An Eagle Scout is going to build a sandbox
PARK LOVERS BALL
Get out and support the ball.
NEW BUSINESS
A Bill Hall Memorial Account has been opened at W.U. Bank.
An example of an article and ad prepared by Friends was presented
Motion was made to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed and meeting
was adjourned at 8:35 PM.
