The meeting was called to order at 7:40 pm. Minutes of the
April 6th meeting were approved.
The Treasurer reported that all accounts total $171,000.00.
WEIR PARK
Dave Stanger has been hired to adapt Tapley plan and do the
construction on Weir Park. He presented a layover of the plan,
making adjustments to fit the budget, while retaining the same
elements. A line item cost estimate was distributed. Size of
play area was reduced bringing that cost item down from 54,000
to 28,000. There was further discussion by the Board,including
checking into the tree bank for landscaping and removing $4000
from the landscaping budget to cover the cost of fencing the
entire area. A motion was made to approve the presented plan and
allow the committee to make the minor changes discussed without
further approval by the Board. The motion was seconded and
approved. The plan will now be presented to City Council. A town
meeting in Weir Park to present the plan to residents surrounding
park was suggested.
CITIZENS REQUEST
Ross Frazer advused members there is a public hearing set for
Monday, May 9, regarding the proposed location of a sewer lift
station in Colonial Park.
COLONIAL PARK
Mark Mailes reported closing is set for the lot at Colonial Park
on Byron.
PARKFEST
Connie Spencer reported plans are complete. Encouraged the
presence of Parks Board members to help set up and participate.
Pre-event publicity has been great.
ADDITIONAL REPORTS
Jere Ahrens reported on the donation of the fire truck.
Need to work out a way to get it to Houston.
There being no further business, a motion for adjournment was
passed and the meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
