The meeting was called to order at 8:00 pm. A motion was made by Jere Aherens and
seconded that the minutes be approved. (Lynn Huston requested that her name be
included with the members present at the February 2, 1994 meeting). The motion passed
unanimously.
Jere Ahrens, Treasurer for The Friends, reported that there was approximately
$171,000 in funds. He further reported that the Park Lovers Ball raised approximately
$50,000. A motion was then made by Jere and seconded by Margaret that The Friends
be congratulated for the fine job done in regards to the Ball. The motion passed
unanimously.
Ross Frazer then gave an update on the Ball. He asked that any comments be passed
along for suggestions for next year. A chairman for 1995 will be appointed in the near
future.
Under discussion items, Carol gave an update on the design of Weir Park. Tapley and
Associates had been tentatively approved by The City Council on Monday, February 28,
1994, if a Hold Harmless Agreement could be worked out. She also reported that
Margaret Sanchez had agreed to serve on the Wier Park Committee.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:13 pm.
