Members Present:

The meeting was called to order at 7:40pm. A motion
was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the October
6, 1993 meeting.
The Treasurer reported that all accounts total
$82,000.00.
Whitt Johnson Park was discussed. The board agreed
that a border of some kind was needed to contain the gravel
beneath the play equipment. Concrete, landscape timbers and
recycled plastic borders were discussed. A motion was made
and seconded that the board investigates feasibility and
costs of nonpermanent borders at Whitt Johnson. The motion
passed unanimously. Tim Hansen volunteered to make
inquiries about various border materials and solicit bids
for the Park.
Odette Mace will check with Mark Mailes about storage
and planting of bulbs donated by the Garden Club of Houston.
Mark Mailes is to obtain the names and addresses of the
holdout homeowners at Colonial Park so that the board could
begin conversations with them, re: acquisition of the land
by the City. Tim Hansen volunteered to contact the
homeowners by mail to begin discussion.
Wier Park: Carol Burke solicited Board members to
serve on a planning committee to implement Tapley-Lunow
Plan. Tip Millard, Tim Hansen, Linda Masera, Cindy
Sparkman, Mark Mailes, Lynn Huston and Odette Mace
volunteered to serve on the committee. Planning is to begin
immediately. Requests for proposals will be solicited from
Tapley-Lunow and other landscape architectural firms.
Friends Activities: Corporations and individuals have
been contacted to underwrite the Park Lover's Ball.
Other Businesses: The board will follow-up with Mark
Mailes; re: screen plantings around the volleyball court at
Colonial Park.
Lynn Huston suggested that frisbee golf equipment is
acquired for Colonial Park. Tip Millard volunteered to look
into prices for the equipment and to work with Friends for
funding of the project.
All board members will be assigned to oversee a park
near their homes. Assignments made so far are:
Whitt Johnson Park: Lynn Huston & Jere Ahrens
Milton Park: Margaret Sanchez & Odette Mace
Wier Park: Tim Hansen & Carol Burke
Colonial Park: Tip Millard & Tamara Armstrong
Liberty Hill: Linda Masera
There being no further business, a motion was made and
seconded to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 9:05pm.
