Board of Directors Meeting
December 6, 2000
City Hall Conference Room
3800 University Blvd.
The meeting was called to order at 6:20 PM. Those in attendance were; Gayle
Jackson, Alisa Starbird, Win Graham, Mark Mailes, Ross Frazer, Donna LaMond:
Amy Reid; Karin Dubose, Linda Gray, Sherry Gift, Corey Brown, Stephanie
Langenstein and Marisue Tallichet.
2. Approval of November 8, 2000 Minutes: The minutes are to be amended to list
Alisa Starbird as being present. Motion made by Karin Dubose and seconded by
Linda Gray that the minutes be approved. The motion carried.
3. Treasurer's Report: Ross Frazer reported that the bank balance is $499,391.28.
4. Reports:
Homeplace: Karin Dubose ask to let her know of anyone who might be
interested in helping; passed sheet on fundraising ideas
Pavers: Haven't sold many lately; January Currents to have press release about
pavers
Public Relations: No report
Water Bill Check Off. Should be receiving approximately $9500 for the year
T-shirts, Ornaments & Shirts: Will be sold at Whole Foods Opening
Park Lovers Ball: Underwriting coming along quite well; next committee
meeting will be at 9:00 AM in the Whole Foods Conference Room
5. Old Business:
Bill Hall Memorial: Amy Reid reported that the builder and city attorney are
trying to come to an agreement about the structure; would like to try and get
lumber donated for part of the money that the Friends will be spending
Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler Party: Need to know what actually made on the
party after expenses; check with Ann Martin to see who paid to attend
Master Plan: Linda will bring everyone a copy to January meeting; Parks Board
meeting to start planning for Coloinal Park; Master Plan to be condensed to use as
marketing tool
YMCA Acquisition: The YMCA has not accepted the City's offer; our
negotiators are still working out details of purchase
Board Positions: Have several applications for the 2 open positions
Slide Show: Be sure and get pictures to Alisa Starbird by next meeting
6. New Business
Obligations: Whitt Johnson Park: $352,771; owe City $250,000; need to pay
$42,250 for the Master Plan. Have $100,000 in from County
County Contribution for 2001: Gayle Jackson to call Commissioner Steve
Radack
Foundations: Linda wants to get proposals out soon; Linda will bring foundations
listing to January meeting
Planned Giving & Membership: Corey Brown to work with Ann Martin on these
7. Adjournment: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
