Board of Directors' Meeting
August 6, 1997 *6:30pm* City Hall
AGENDA
1. The meeting was called to order by Ross Frazer at 6:40pm
Members present were: Mark Mailes, Ross Frazer, Carolyn Rapazzo, Beverly Loftis,
Linda Gray, Mark Spradling, Bill Findley, and Anne Martin. Guests were: Theresa
Attwell and Carolyn Caldwell.
2. Ross Frazer presented the slate of nominees for 1997-1998 officers. These are: Linda
Gray (Chairman), Beverly Loftis (Vice-Chairman), Gayle Jackson (Secretary), and
Dan Cooper (Treasurer).
3. Treasurer's report
4. Committee reports:
a. Linda Gray reported that Pat Lawrence Van Sweringen has agreed to Chair the
Foundation Committee. New brochure publication awaits input from the City.
b. Park Lover's Ball - Park Lover's Ball underwriting request letter should be typed
and mailed before September 2. Theresa Attwell described the decorations.
c. Grassroots - Eight pavers were sent to be engraved.
5. New/other business
a. Southside Place - Jim Daugherty (City Attorney) advised that there is nothing in
the Friend's by-laws to prevent the Friends Board having a fund raiser with
Southside Place. Consider working with Southside Park's organization in some
type of joint project. Members of the Fire Truck Park Board will be asked to
attend the Friend's Board Meeting in September.
b. Ross Frazer talked to Sherman Yehl about Huffington money. The $100,000 will
be used for construction, and not maintenance.
6. Adjournment
There being no further business, Linda Gray motioned for adjournment. Anne Martin
seconded. Motion passed unanimously at 7:30 p.m.
