BOARD OF DIRECTORS' MEETING
AUGUST 7, 1996 * 6:15 PM * CITY HALL
Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Ross Frazer at 6:40 p.m.
Friends of W.U. Parks Board members present were Ross Frazer, Cindy
Sparkman, Lisa Ward, Beverly Loftis, Mark Mailes, John Putnam, Jeanne
Marosis and Jere Ahrens. Also present were Kim and Reid Wilson,
chairman of 97 Park Lovers Ball.
1. The minutes of the Friends of W.U. Parks meeting of June 5, 1996
were approved. Beverly Loftis made this motion and John Putnam
seconded.
2. Treasurer's Report - Treasurer not present, however, the unaudited
report given by Ross Frazer is approximately $175,000.00.
I Committee Reports:
a. Foundations - Ross Frazer
Ross reviewed the grant request program sheet. See attached.
b. Park Lover's Ball - Kim Wilson
Kim Wilson passed out the 97 Park Lovers Ball proposed budget
sheet. This budget is to be presented to the City Council on Monday,
August 12th. It was agreed by the board that printing should be raised and
$700 be added to computerize the check out system. Jere Ahrens made a
motion to accept the budget with changes and Beverly Loftis seconded.
4. New/other business
John Putnam made a motion to accept new/renewing members to the Park
Lover's Board. Seconded by Beverly Loftis.
Reminder that we will elect officers at the September meeting.
Beverly Loftis announced that Cent'Anni Restaurant wants to donate 10 -
15% of a nightly intake to one of West U's groups. The board suggested
that this group be the "Friends Board."
John Putnam made a motion and Beverly Loftis seconded the motion that
the meeting be adjourned.
